Privacy Policy

1. About this policy

AskWorth ("we", "our" or "us") is a product of AskTech. This policy explains what happens to the information you enter into the AskWorth app for iPhone and Android. By using AskWorth, you agree to the practices described here.

2. Information we collect

None. We do not collect, receive, store or have access to any information about you or your finances. In particular, AskWorth:

• has no sign-up, login or user account
• has no servers and does not send your data anywhere
• does not connect to banks, brokers, mutual fund platforms or any other financial service
• contains no analytics, advertising, crash-reporting or tracking tools, from us or from anyone else
• does not use your device's advertising identifier and does not track you across apps or websites

For normal use the app works entirely offline. The only link in the app, to the AskTech website in Settings, opens in your web browser, and that website is covered by its own terms.

3. Information stored on your device

The information you choose to enter is stored only on your device:

• the accounts, investments, assets, loans and credit cards you add, with their values and notes
• the snapshots saved each time you update your finances
• any goals you set
• your settings, such as currency, update schedule and reminder preferences

This information is protected by your device's built-in encryption (Data Protection on iPhone, and storage encryption on Android), which is tied to your device passcode. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, and it is not included in iCloud, Google or computer backups of your device.

4. App lock, Face ID and fingerprint

• If you set a PIN, only a salted, one-way hash of it is stored, in your device's secure keystore. The PIN itself is never stored.
• Face ID, Touch ID and Android biometric unlock are handled entirely by your device's operating system. AskWorth only receives a yes or no answer and never has access to your face, fingerprint or any biometric data.

5. Backups and exports

Because nothing is stored on our side, backups are in your hands. AskWorth creates a backup or export file only when you ask it to, and you choose where it goes, for example Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or email. Once you save or send a file, it is handled by that service under its own privacy policy.

• Encrypted backups are protected by a password you choose (AES-256 encryption performed by your device's operating system, with a key derived from your password). We cannot see or recover this password, so a backup cannot be restored without it.
• JSON and CSV exports are not encrypted. Anyone who has the file can read it, so store and share them with care.

AskWorth's data is not included in your device's own backups (such as iCloud Backup or a computer backup). To move to a new phone, export an AskWorth backup and restore it there.

6. Notifications

Update reminders are scheduled on your device and delivered by your device's operating system. They are not sent from a server, and they do not include any amounts or balances.

7. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, share or disclose your data, because we never have it. If we are ever required by law to provide information, we have no user data to provide.

8. Keeping and deleting your data

• Your data stays on your device until you delete it.
• You can delete everything at any time in Settings → Erase all data, or by uninstalling the app.
• If you uninstall the app or lose your device without a backup, your data cannot be recovered, by you or by us. We recommend exporting an encrypted backup regularly.

9. Your rights

Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and other applicable law, you have the right to access, correct and delete your personal data. Because AskWorth keeps your data only on your device, you can do all of this yourself within the app: view and edit any item, delete individual items or snapshots, or erase everything. We hold no copy to access or delete on your behalf. You are welcome to contact us with any question about your privacy.

10. Children's privacy

AskWorth is intended for adults managing their own finances. It is not directed at children, and it does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.

11. Changes to this policy

If we change how AskWorth handles information, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above. If a future version of the app ever needs to collect any data, we will explain it here and in the app before it happens.
